Choc banana smoothie

Whether you need a quick breakfast or an afternoon snack, this smoothie will do the trick. It has a nice balance of carbohydrates, protein, fat and fibre, which will give you energy without a big swing in your blood sugar levels. Omit the raw egg if you are pregnant or for children under one.

Ingredients

1 frozen banana

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

200 ml milk (I use full fat cows milk)

1/4 avocado

1 tbl hemp seeds

1 tablespoon oats

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 raw egg or 1 tablespoon protein powder (optional)

Method

Pop everything into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve straight away.
